Rhodes Marks End of World War II

Ambassador and Dr. Speckhard and Rear Admiral Mark Fox commanding the USS Harry S. Truman carrier strike group attended a ceremony marking the end of World War II in Rhodes on May 9.  Following a service in Rhodes’ seaside cathedral and the reading of a short history of the island’s experience in the war, the Ambassador and Greek dignitaries laid wreaths of laurel leaves at a nearby monument.
