Photographic Exhibit of North American Indians Opens in Athens

Athens (December 12, 2006) -- A unique exhibition of historical photographs by famed photographer Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952) will be held at the Cultural Center of the University of Indianapolis – Goulandris-Horn Foundation, December 15, 2006 through January 27, 2007, under the title: “Sacred Legacy: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian.” The exhibit, which will give audiences a rare glimpse into the traditional way of life of North American tribes at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, is organized by the U.S. Embassy and the University of Indianapolis, with the support of the Fulbright Foundation in Greece. Communication sponsor is ERT. The exhibit is also sponsored by the Athens News and the companies La Chocolatiere and Adjust Lane.
