The Eli Yamin Band Tours Northern Greece

Athens (May 15, 2009) -- The U.S. Embassy in Athens and the U.S. Consulate in Thessaloniki are pleased to announce that the Eli Yamin Blues Band is visiting Greece for performances in Ioannina, Anatoli, Drama and Xanthi, on May 22 through 26.  The performances are sponsored by the Rhythm Road Program of Jazz at Lincoln Center and the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
The detailed program of performances is the following:
Friday, May 22, at 20:30 at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Anatoli.
Saturday, May 23, at 21:00 at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Ioannina.
Monday, May 25, at 20:30 at the Municipal Conservatory of Drama.
Tuesday, May 26, at 20:30, at the Thrace Art and Heritage Foundation, Kapnapothiki P. of Xanthi
Eli Yamin (piano and voice) is a jazz pianist, composer, educator, broadcaster, bandleader and Steinway artist. Yamin has performed at top concert halls and festivals in the United States, India, China, Japan and throughout Europe. As a jazz educator, Yamin holds positions as Artistic Director of The Jazz Drama Program and Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center's Middle School Jazz Academy. He designs and delivers training sessions for middle school students, music teachers and college professors. His band members include Chanell Crichlow (tuba,) Kate McGarry (voice,) and LaFrae Sci (drummer.)
