Local Day Care Center Gets a Facelift

May 10, 2008

On May 10, U.S. Embassy Athens, the local chapter of Daughters of Penelope, and Habitat for Humanity pooled their resources to paint the fence of Penelopean Day Care Center for low and no-income families in Nea Ionia.  Over 50 Greeks and Americans came together to work on this project to improve the aesthetics of the center.  The Daughters of Penelope organized the project, and the majority of volunteers came from America, including many students doing their semester abroad in Greece.
