Health meets Cinema in Kos
American film directors won three of the top awards at the 1st Kos International Health Film Festival “Ippokratis,” which was organized September 1-6, 2009. The U.S. Embassy supported this initiative, fittingly held on the island of Kos -- the birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. Cultural Affairs Officer Diana Brown received the award on behalf of Maria Finitzo, who won first prize for her feature length film Mapping Stem Cell Research: Terra Incognita.
