U.S. Environmental Law Expert Leaves Eco Friendly "Footprint" in Greece
U.S. Embassy Athens invited the Assistant Attorney General from the state of Minnesota, Dr. Alan Williams, to Athens and to a northwestern city of Greece to speak on the topic of “Environmental Protection in the United States: How Federalism Shapes American Environmental Law.” Dr. Williams reached young audiences by leaving his own eco friendly advice to an Athens audience of 40 international relations and environmental studies university students at Panteion University’s International Institute for International Relations on October 6th. Three days later, on his travels throughout Greece, Dr. Williams stopped in the city of Ioannina to present to 50 guests at the University of Ioannina, which included university students, faculty members, and environmental NGOs. Appropriately, this representative from the "land of 10,000 lakes” also participated in a private boat tour of the lake and surrounding wetland organized by the Environmental Protection Association of Ioannina.
