I-130 Petition for Alien Relative

USCIS Athens only accepts I-130 petitions in person from U.S. citizens residing in Greece for at least six months. U.S. citizens whose principal residence is not in Greece must file the petition in the United States.

If you are not eligible to file in Greece, you should file the petition with the USCIS Chicago Lockbox. Lawful permanent residents must file their petitions in the United States.

Evidence of Residence

We require evidence of petitioner's residence in Greece, such as a photocopy of a Residence Permit or a copy of the petitioner's orders if the petitioner is a member of the U.S. military or government stationed in Greece.


Appointments

USCIS Athens accepts I-130 petitions on a walk-in basis or by appointment.  To make an appointment please contact USCIS Athens at uscis.athens@dhs.gov and note “Requesting I-130 Appointment” on the subject line.  Please note that spouse beneficiaries must accompany U.S. citizen petitioners at the time of filing.

Supporting Documentation

Note:  USCIS Athens requires that you bring both the originals and legible copies of supporting documentation when you file your I-130.  Please note that English translations of any documents written in another language are required.  Translated documents must include a statement by the translator certifying that they are fluent in English and Greek.  Document translation in Athens should be done at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 10 Arionos, Psirri.
