Democrats and Republicans Abroad

Both U.S. political parties have events in Athens this month.  Democrats Abroad, the overseas organization of one of the two main U.S. political parties, welcomed American primary voters to the Grande Bretagne on February 7-8.  During a tour of their temporary polling place, Ambassador Speckhard encouraged all Americans to participate in the 2008 U.S. Presidential election, wherever they live and whatever their party affiliation.

On February 20, the Ambassador gave remarks at the Republicans Abroad annual Presidents’ Day and pita cutting ceremony, once again encouraging active citizen participation in this year’s election and laying out his foreign policy priorities.
