How to Contact the Federal Benefits Unit

OPTION 1 - Send us an email at FBU.Athens@ssa.gov and provide the following information:

1. Last name and first name
2. Street Address
3. Phone Number
4. Last four digits of Social Security Number
5. Date of Birth
6. Issue

We will do our best to answer within ten business days

OPTION 2 - You can call us at 210-720-2426 from 08:30 to 12:30 Monday, Wednesday and Friday except for Greek and American Holidays and the last Wednesday of the month. Be sure you provide the following information in step 1:

 Last name and first name

3. Last four digits of Social Security Number
4. Date of Birth
5. Issue

OPTION 3 - Book a personal appointment to come to the U.S.  Embassy and talk to a representative only for Application of a new Social Security Card or Appointment of Representative Payee. No other personal appointments are permitted.

To book a personal appointment send us an email providing us with the following information or call us at 720-2426 from 08:30 to 12:30 Monday, Wednesday and Friday except the Greek and American holidays and the last Wednesday of the month:
