Ambassador Speckhard Visits New Acropolis Museum

On Thursday, February 14, Ambassador Speckhard joined Mr. Lee Todd, Vice President of Special Olympic World Games for an exclusive tour of the new (and still partially under construction) Acropolis Museum.  This special tour occurred during the signing of the memorandum for the “Special Olympics World Summer Games” which will take place in Athens in 2011. Professor Dimitris Pandermalis, Director of the new Acropolis Museum, led a tour which gave the opportunity for American visitors to view the galleries and open spaces which will host the antiquities collection from one of the world’s most famed ancient monument, the Acropolis of Athens.  The museum, designed by New York-based architect Bernand Tschumi, will open to the public in the fall of 2008.
